Kindergarten News 5/2/16
The Ed Smith Science Fair is Wednesday June
11th from 6-7:30. The kindergarten classes
have a group project in the Science Fair.
Save the Date: You are in invited to the Ed
Smith Kindergarten Graduation on June 17th in
the am.
No School: May 27th and May 30th for Memorial
Day Weekend
ELA
In Listening and Learning, we are
learning how to answer questions
about Taking care of Our Earth.
We are continuing to review letters,
sounds, digraphs, clusters and
blends.

lists sent home. Your child should
be able to read the words on the
list automatically!
Math
NY State Module 4: Number Pairs, Addition and
Subtraction to 10
Please review: Please make sure your child can add
and subtract within 10, count to 100 and name
numbers to 20.
Science
We continue with our unit this week in ELA
and Science, “Taking Care of the Earth”. We
are finishing our Science Fair experiment
about the effects of light and darkness on
plant growth.
We have tricky words that cannot be
sounded out using the typical short
vowel sounds. Please have your child
