Math: We are continuing with writing and solving addition and subtraction story problems using strategies.
Reading/Writing: Students should bring home their guided reading baggie and sight word baggie each night for practice and they need to
bring them back to school each day.
We will be working on inferences.
IB/Social Studies/Science: We are continuing our new unit: Where We
Are in Place and Time. We are still working on landforms and will also learn about George Washington and
Abraham Lincoln.
Parent Information:
1.
Thursday is Literacy Night at 6:00. The Book fair will be open that night, also.
2.
This week is book fair. I sent home a flyer last week. Our class will be going on
Wednesday morning to look. You may send money for your child to buy books on
Wednesday or you may prefer to have your child look at the books, come home and talk to you about it, and send money on Thursday or Friday. They will be allowed to go back if they have money.
3.
If you volunteered to send treats for the
Valentine’s Day party on Friday, I’ll be sending home reminders. If you send
Valentine’s cards, please be sure to send one for everyone in the class. We have a new student to add to the list I sent home last week. Please add Madilynn to your list.
We now have 18 students.
