Objective: The student will create a PowerPoint about himself or herself. The student
will understand that using PowerPoint is a type of informational text. The student will
share the PowerPoint with the rest of the class.
Creating the PowerPoint Slides:
 Open a new PowerPoint document.
 Insert a text box for any text that will be displayed on the slide.
 Move the text box to the desired location on the slide.
 Continue adding slides and text as needed.
Inserting a Background for the Slides:
 Go to the menu bar and choose Format- background.
 Use the drop down arrow in the box and choose more colors.
 Choose the color for your slides by clicking on the desired color.
 Click the button that says Apply to all slides.
Inserting Clip Art:
 Go to the menu bar and select “Insert”.
 From the drop down box, choose picture, clip art.
 Type the picture topic in the “search for clips” bar.
 Click on the picture that you want to use.
 Select the insert clip box.
 Move your picture to the desired location on the slide.
