Repetition - Jefferson starts each of his clauses with that, perhaps to maintain a straightforward, logical flow. It also makes that
sentence stand out and stick in the reader’s memory.
Summary:
Declaration of Independence was created by Thomas Jefferson in response to George III being cruel to the colonies. In the
document, Jefferson explains that if the colonists’ “natural rights” are not protected,they have every right to break away from the
England. On July 4, 1776, Jefferson had the rest of the Continental Congress sign the historic document signifying the
Independence of the colonies.
