Think about it…Every story, every celebration, every belief in the church

Think about it…Every story, every
celebration, every belief in the church
has a point. This is an invitation to
understanding in its simplest form.
Jesus’ Resurrection
A child is born like any other child, raised like
any other child, yet he lives his life as One
with God the Father. His divinity caught
entire world
the attention of the
, before
there was the internet, telephone, radio, television
or newspapers.
This ordinary child, fully
human and
fully divine, was the life that would
model to every other life how to love others,
forgive others, and be of service to others.
Jesus knew we are all connected to a Higher
Power, an all powerful,
all creative, all good, all loving God.
Although we dread the thought, basic human
conditions are suffering, pain, sin and death. We
can’t avoid them, much as we try. Jesus, being
fully human, couldn’t avoid it either.
He died a humiliating, tortured
and painful death. Many people
in the world today can relate to
experiencing the same kinds of
Trauma.
What was
God’s
Point?
God’s point was
meant to prove
that life and love
and goodness ,
not pain and
suffering and
death triumphs in
the end.
An invisible life force dwells in all of us,
nourishing our souls when we need strength,
giving us hope when we are hopeless,
keeping us on track to stay connected to that
Higher Power.
We were meant to BE CHRIST in the world.
The community of believers are
Temples of the Holy Spirit.
People : God’s Temple where His spirit dwells.
Even an unbeliever is driven by this invisible
force to be a good and decent person.
A good and decent person may not necessarily
recognize and appreciate GOD, but God
definitely recognizes and appreciates YOU.
The Church is “Jesus walking in the Flesh”.
The church unifies the world in the name of Jesus
Christ. She has enabled us to BE Jesus. As members of
the church, we are…
 The Body of Christ,
 The People of God,
 Temples of the Holy Spirit.
The church has taken a lot of hits, everything
‘larger than life’ always does.
But the function of the church is simple and
pure: To know God, look at Jesus,
to know Jesus, look at the church.
If you ever…
 Fed the hungry
 Assisted the lost or lonely
 Forgave the sinner
 Comforted the sick
 Listened to the broken hearted
 Taught or preached the words of Christ,
YOU WERE THE CHURCH
The Church is the way people see and touch and
experience Jesus concretely in the world today.
God’s point was that
someday, somewhere, and
for some reason,
You will thank the teachings of the church
…You’ll thank Jesus for his sacrifice
…You’ll thank God.
