Confirmation and Baptism Background Message
I became a member of the church and thereby a member of
God’s family.
I was called by name and welcomed into the church with
great joy.
In the church, I was introduced to life in Jesus Christ.
My parents decided to have me baptised because they loved
me, and they believed in Jesus.
God the Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ freed me from sin and
gave me a new birth by the water of the Holy Spirit and
welcomed me into his holy people.
Confirmation will let me live in closer union with Christ and
others.
It will help me better understand the Church and live as a
member of the Church.
It will help me take on the responsibilities of being a Catholic
adult.
It will help me be a public witness to Christ’s truth.
