Attendance and Tardy policy
Because so much learning takes place in class, excess excused or unexcused absences will affect your
participation grade. If you are late two times you will receive a warning and after the fifth tardiness
you will be referred to and administrator. If you are late more than 10 minutes you will be marked
absent. Please respect everybody who got in the classroom on time. I follow all Mountain View HS
tardy and absence polices.
HALL PASSES: The pass is given with discretion only for bathroom emergencies…rare ones. Pass abuse
will result in loss of pass privileges. Sign-out is mandatory. You may not go to the student store or other
places using this pass.
Homework = 20% of your grade




Students should expect homework daily. All work is to be completed and turned in at the
beginning of each period. Completed work will be stamped. The stamp means the student
received all points for the homework.
If it is incomplete or half done, then the student will receive no credit for the homework.
Late work will be accepted for full credit if the absence is officially excused. In that case you
have ONE day for each day missed to complete and turn in assignments.
If you didn’t do your homework, you will be asked to come to my room and to complete it for
50% of the credit. This policy will be enforced consistently.
Make-up work / assignment procedures:
1. Weekly assignments will be clearly written down every Monday at the beginning of the period in
The Planner provided by Mountain View high school on the first day of school.
It is mandatory to bring the Planner every day at school.
2. Submit missing assignments or talk to me always at the beginning or the end of the period.
Make-up tests is allowed only if the ABSENCES are EXCUSED
If a student has an excused absence she/he has two days per excused absence to make up the test.
Contact the teacher to make an appointment.
PARTICIPATION = 20% of your semester grade
Oral and written participation counts. You receive points each time you are called on in class whether
or not your answer is correct. Depending of your level, use as much French as you can in class and
during the passing periods. Every day, ask yourself: “What did I say in French today?”
TRYING COUNTS! Your EFFORT will be reworded!!!

Classroom rules of conduct
GENERAL
I comply with the MVHS Honor Code.
SECIFIC
1.
Please, say “Bonjour” when you come to your French class and
2.
Be in chair and ready to learn before the final bell rings and wait to be excused at the
end of the period.
No food, no drinks (water in a plastic bottle is allowed).
Stay out of teacher area. Under no circumstance should a student be in teacher’s area
unless student has teacher’s permission.
I expect an attitude of tolerance and respect for everyone!! Learning to speak a foreign
language can be intimidating. Be understanding.
Be honest… cheating and plagiarism are severe student crimes and will be handled
accordingly. I have zéro tolerance for either.
Follow school rules and policies (cell phones, dress code...).
“Au revoir” when you leave. ☺☻♥☼
