Harry Phillips Memorial Scholarship Application
Social Science and History Departments
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 12 Noon, April 7, 2017
This is a scholarship for transferring students majoring in Anthropology, Economics, Geography,
History, or Political Science. These are the five qualifying disciplines. The scholarship will be
disbursed upon proof of registration at a four-year school.
Applicants must:
 be transferring to a four-year institution in the next academic year
 have a 3.0 GPA or above in all college work attempted
 have a 3.2 GPA or above in all college courses in the qualifying disciplines
 have at least 12 semester units, including the current semester, in classes in the
 qualifying disciplines, taken at any college, with at least 6 taken at MiraCosta.
If you meet these qualifications the Social Science and History Departments invite you to apply.
Please attach the following to your completed application:
 current unofficial MiraCosta College transcript (print from SURF) and all other college transcripts
 an early grade report for qualifying classes being taken in the current semester
