Focusing questions: Suggestion: You might start simply by describing to each other what you are working on. 1. What is your topic and what research question are you asking about it? What central question (or questions) will lead you to productive research regarding this topic? 2. Imagine the research you will be doing in the next few weeks: What sources do you think you will use? Where will you find these sources? What kinds of secondary sources will you use? Primary sources? What method? 3. At this stage, what do you understand as the central issue behind this topic? Who cares about this issue other than you? 4. How are the Stanford topics similar to Örebro’s? How are they different? 5. Write short summaries of each person’s research topic on the whiteboard. To read & comment on the Cross-Cultural Blog: http://www.stanford.edu/group/ccr/blog/ To post your own entry to the blog: http://cgi.stanford.edu/%7Egroupccr/mt/mt.cgi If you have time in class, post your own entry before the group presentation.
