ELET4223 Homework 11 Bandstop Filters Question 1 Design a bandstop filter with a Butterworth response to meet the specifications shown in the figure below. Implement using Bainter notch circuits, and magnitude scale so that all capacitors are 0.01 μF. Question 2 Design a bandstop filter with a Chebyshev response to meet the specifications shown in the figure below. Implement using the Friend-based notch circuits of Section 12.8. Question 3 Design a bandstop filter with a Chebyshev response to meet the specifications shown in the figure below. Implement using Bainter notch circuits, and magnitude scale so that all capacitors are 0.1 μF. Question 4 We did Example 12.6 in class using Bainter circuits (see the handout on Examples 12.3 and 12.6). Problem 12.9 in the textbook asks you to implement this filter using Boctor circuits instead. This cannot be done! Explain why. Hints Question 1 is problem 12.8 from the book. It works out as n=3 Butterworth. Warning: the horizontal axis is given in Hertz, not radians per second. Question 2 is n=2 Chebyshev. (In case you want to get the exact same circuit as me, I scaled the LPN to get .1μF capacitors, and I scaled the HPN using km=1000.) Question 3 is n=3 Chebyshev Question 4 is very easy and quick. So don’t waste a lot of time on it!
