DEAC Update – MHL
In efforts to grow the dean’s education advisory council, Dr. Lupi and Ms. Pece will be reaching out to
prospective community members. And, in an effort to include COEHS alumni on the dean‘s advisory
council on an associate membership committee, Dr. Lupi is requesting CLT members to bring back to the
table three names of COEHS alums (1 – 5 years out)
The next DEAC meeting will include round table sessions for COEHS faculty and alums to meet our DEAC
members and highlight faculty research.
FTCE Updates – MHL
The undergraduate standards curriculum committee met and revisited the change in policy for students
taking the FTCE prior to internship. The committee’s recommendation will go to the executive committee
in January and on the agenda for faculty assembly to discuss and vote upon. The CLT discussed next
steps and future processes for passing the FTCE before internship.
FLDOE website link and FTCE test prep materials are on the COEHS website.
Please keep Dr. Possinger engaged as to what departments are doing; she will have to report to the
FDOE.
GA Allocation for 2016-2017 – JJK
$130,000 was allocated to the COEHS for 2016-17 graduate assistants; this was based on undergraduate
and graduate FTE. The waiver is coming from the graduate school; GA’s must work 10 hours per week.
COEHS has to develop a plan to encourage graduate assistants to apply for assistantships that would be
allocated through the graduate school. More discussion to follow as this plan is not due until February.
