Whereas, the student body deserves to know the rights they possess,
Whereas, encounters with law enforcement officials can be intimidating for
students,
Whereas, SGA has endorsed and supported Students for a Sensible Drug
Policy’s Equalization proposal in the past,
It is resolved that SGA will endorse Students for a Sensible Drug Policy’s
“Know Your Rights” campaign.
In addition, be it further resolved that SGA will fund Students for a Sensible
Drug Policy $150.00 to fund approximately 2000 “Know Your Rights” cards
that will be passed out to students, which will also bear the SGA logo.
In addition, be it further resolved that SGA will partner with SSDP and the
Office of Public Safety to hold forums for students to have open conversations
with Public Safety officers.
