Writing in & for Digital Environments Multimodal Final Project and Presentation Overview The project and presentation is a total 25 points, or 25% of your grade: Your final project requires you to create multimodal feature for your blog. This differs from the use of multimodal aspects in your individual posts—this is a feature item. It can be anything, but some possibilities might be: a video, podcast, online poll, slideshow, map (you made), interactive tool, infographic, or anything else you might be able to dream up! An excellent multimodal feature will enhance your blog project; it will add to the overall story you have created without being redundant. (10 points) Presentation: During the class periods of 11/19, 11/21, and 11/26 you will present your multimodal feature (or plan for your multimodal feature, if it is not yet complete) and the rest of your blog to the class. For this presentation you will take no more than 7 minutes to talk about your blog project and your final multimodal project. Then you will pose specific questions to the class to help you as you finish the project. In return, each class member will offer you written feedback on your project. (5 points) Finally, by midnight on 12/9 you will have your multimodal final project complete and you will email to me a 2-3 page reflection essay. The essay will talk specifically about how you have a writer have changed and through the creation of your blog, what you have learned, what you think this experience brings to your writing, and where your writing might go from here (if anywhere). NOTE: This essay is your opportunity to tell me what your multimodal final project adds to your project and what strategies you used to create your blog across the semester. Remember this is the last thing I will read by you this semester so use this essay to go out with a bang!
