`
Sofia is a young Mexican-American woman who came to the US as a
child and wants to be a professional atheltic trainer. Coming to the US brought
many changes to her life. The clean, organized grocery stores definitely had
major differences from the dirty and noisy mercados in Mexico City. After some
time, living in the US really changed Sofia. The second time she came back to
Mexico, she realized that she was not as comfortable there and was becoming
an American. Now, she has many ideas that are different from the traditional
thoughts her parents have on life. She believes women should have the same
opportunities as men.
She works in a gym and would like to train professional
athletes, which is something her parents don’t totally agree with. However, I
think she should do what she wants and that her decision to do that is fine
since she is now living in the US.
