American the Beautiful
Elaine Abusharbain –- As humans expand their impact o the American landscape with its
vast resources and beauty, the impact on natural systems is a grave concern. Wildlife
populations, soil fertility, air and water quality have all declined. The average
homeowner may feel that they are powerless to make change, however, your small piece
of America can be a large part of the solution. Whether one owns .3 acres or 30 acres,
there is much we can do to reverse the negative trends if only we understood how our
simple actions can greatly benefit the beautiful American ecosystem that we inherited.
