ANALYSING THE ASSIGNMENT
Before you begin to work on reading and writing for your assignment, it is
useful to have a clear picture of what the assignment is asking you to do.
Here are some tasks that might help you.
 Write down in your own words what you think the assignment is asking
you to do.
 What do you already know about the subject matter of the assignment?
 What background information do you need to help you to complete this
assignment?
 How are you going to choose your reading material?
 As you begin to read, try to read and make notes with the assignment
or topic in mind.
