 Child Psychology and Development: 1/2 year, 1/2 credit:
Child Psychology and Development is a semester course designed to provide
students with a broad foundation of child growth and development principles;
exam basic childcare and parenting practices and explore theories of child
development and psychology. Current issues, events and technological
advances affecting families today will be explored. Students will also research
the personal characteristics necessary for successful careers in the child
development and psychology field.
Through our partnership with Adelphi University Juniors and Seniors
enrolled in the class may receive college credit for their work upon
successful completion of the course. Please see teacher’s website for
details.
 Student Expectations:





Respect- for yourself, your classmates, your teacher as well as
personal and classroom property.
Responsibility- for your behavior and class work. It is your
responsibility to make up any work missed.
Follow school policies and procedures.
Attendance Policy: District policy states that 12
or more absences in a half semester course will result in failure to
receive course credit!
Active class participation is expected and graded!
Consistently check teacher’s webpage for assignments, exams and
other important class information.
Material and Supplies Needed:
 A 1 ½” binder is required for class to keep your class work and
assignments. All papers are to be kept for the entire semester!
 Pens and Pencils (blue and black ink)
 A pack of dividers with pockets; A USB Flash Drive will also be
needed
 You are required to bring with you all class materials on
a daily basis!
