For Journal Assignment #2, you will be graded on the following
information in your journal:









Everything should written by hand.
Each entry must be dated
Materials: Go back to this page, and edit this page. Be specific with materials. How
much of a material was used? Do you have ALL materials listed.
Set Up: How you set up your experiment (detailed steps). You can use pictures or
diagrams here if you’d like.
Procedures: All procedures involving the experiment. Every time you worked on
your experiment you should have written about it and dated the entry. These
procedures must be detailed.
All data that was collected must be written for each trial, if multiple trials were done.
Description of mistakes/errors, things that went wrong, or things that were
changed.
If there were any MSDS’s, instructions/instruction manuals, diagrams, loose papers,
photocopies of important items, or packaging, etc. used, they must be taped/stapled
in the journal. This section may not apply to all of you.
All questions, suggestions, and comments from judges at all competitions must be in
your journal for each competition you attended. This page must be labeled with the
name of the fair and the date attended.
 MAKE SURE TO ADD ON TO YOUR TABLE OF
CONTENTS!
Make sure all of this information is included. You will be graded on this
information. It doesn’t need to be in any particular order.
If you kept up with your journal the way you should have during your
experiment, there should be nothing you have to “add” to it.
You may have extra stuff in your journal. I will just be looking for the
information above.
