Responsible for ensuring that all offices, classrooms, student accommodation, toilets and other communal areas of the University are kept tidy and clean using the most appropriate equipment and by the removal of rubbish from rooms. Replenish stock as and when required in the areas of responsibility e.g. paper towels, toilet roll. Make sure cupboards are kept stocked with the required cleaning products. Ensure that own equipment is maintained, as far as possible in order for it to remain in working order. Ensuring that all safety aspects of the University are followed including, unlocking, disarming and resetting the alarm; delivering clinical waste bins to the appropriate area; safe handling and storage of clean products. Report maintenance requirements and damages as and when required within area of responsibility. To adhere to health and safety and other relevant legislative requirements, University and relevant external, policies, procedures, standards and codes of practice. Cleaning Industry Qualification e.g. BiCS, NVQ, or equivalent. Ability to judge the cleaning requirements in a given area; COSHH. Previous relevant work experience and knowledge of a range of equipment and cleaning techniques. Experience/ knowledge Knowledge of Health & Safety.
