I’m Daisy and I’m studying in the School of Modern Languages & Cultures for a MA in Middle Eastern Studies. The reason I chose to come to Nottingham initially just the campus, it’s an absolutely stunning setting and it’s so green. And we’ve got the city centre right on our doorstep as well. For me, it was the best of both worlds really. The green, lush campus and a vibrant city centre right next to each other, I think it’s an absolutely perfect setting. The social life at Nottingham is absolutely brilliant as well, as a postgrad, you have The Postgraduate Student Association or PGSA, who organise loads of trips and social events for you to go to. In addition to that, Nottingham has loads of bars, clubs and restaurants, so whatever food, music or social scene you are into, Nottingham has something for you. The structure of my course was also really interesting to me – Although it was one degree, it was inter-disciplinary so I was taught in four different departments, giving me a really varied and wide depth of knowledge, which as a postgraduate I think is something you really want.
