Extra Help: I am available for extra help before homebase starts and after school. Students needing help
should see me to make arrangements.
Absences: If you are planning to be absent, please let me know at least one day in advance so I can
prepare your assignments. Remember that if you have a cut slip for an absence, you are expected to have
your homework done when you return to school.
Latework/Missing Assignments: All assignments must be handed in to show progress for standards
based grading. Students will make arrangements to complete assignments outside of class time if they
are not prepared when the assignment is due.

required to bring all English materials and supplies to class.

Grading: Sixth grade students will be assessed with a Standards-Based Grading system this year.
Students will earn a 0.5-4 based on classroom performance on common formative assessments and
summative assessments for each grading period. All curriculum lessons and student learning experiences

*Extra credit is not available. All assignments/assessments for which a student receives a 2 or below, will
be available for retakes. Students should make arrangements with me for retakes.
