Branconier was selected for this honor from a group of 20 nominated Burleigh County teachers. Wachter Middle School Principal Delaney Jones stated, “Ms. Branconier has worked for our school the past 10 years. Her hard-work and dedication towards the students and school have made her most deserving of this honor.” Branconier is known for her playful nature within the classroom. Wachter Middle School students state that they feel welcomed and safe in her class. This is one of the reasons why community members, parents, students, and faculty nominated her for the award. Only one teacher receives the Burleigh County Teacher of the Year award annually. Branconier is the 57th teacher to have received the award.
