Description
Case discussions used to examine a broad range corporate finance issues and decisions. Topics
include forecasting financial statements, capital budgeting, risk and return, estimation of capital
costs, working capital analysis and business valuation.
Objectives
1. Be knowledgeable of risk and return concepts from the viewpoint of an individual asset
and a portfolio;
2. Be able to forecast the additional financing needed to support corporate growth;
3. Be able to forecast and evaluate the cash flows generated within a capital budgeting
framework;
4. Knowledgeable of the significance of working capital policy and the approaches to
working capital policy management;
5. Understand the significance and implications of capital structure and leverage;
6. Understand the process of valuing common stock, preferred stock and debt and their use
in estimating the cost of capital;
Purpose
To provide an in-depth study of financial management topics as they relate to maximizing
shareholder wealth.
