News from Mrs. Wilmeth Dilley Elementary 1st Six Weeks – Week 2 This Weeks News… We had a great first week of school! Hope you enjoyed the long holiday weekend! Continue discussing rules and procedures with your child (listening when the teacher is talking, following directions, being kind and respectful, raising hand to talk, etc.) Also please help your child learn how to ties his/her shoes and practice writing his/her first and last name daily. Breakfast is served beginning at 7:30 in the classroom and ends at 7:50. If your child arrives after that time they will not be able to eat breakfast. Please work on getting your child to school on time. Please make sure you are checking your child’s “Take-Home” folder daily (including Fridays) for classwork and notes. Today you should have received a lot of information including our monthly calendar. I try to add anything that I know of ahead of time to the calendar so you are aware of what is coming up. On the back of the calendar you will also find your child’s montly homework. Please complete homework nightly on the homework sheets I have provided in the folder. Thank you for helping your child learn! You should have also received a yellow note last week regarding “Grandparent’s Day”. We are having a “Poppin’ Party” to recognize our grandparents on Friday, September 5th. Grandparents are welcome to come visit our classroom and eat popcorn with us from 2:30-3:20. Please be sure to check in at the office before coming to the classroom. Remember that you must have the color coded cards in order to pick up any child from our campus at the end of the day. If you need extras, you may stop by the office and they can get you some. If a card is not presented to your child’s teacher you will be asked to check them out at the office. This procedure is for the safety of our children. Thank you so much for your cooperation in this matter. Show your spirit by wearing maroon and gray on Fridays to support our Dilley Wolves and Pups!
