Creative projects should convey your self-reflection and
understanding about the themes expressed in the novel
AND address all or some of these questions:

Attending college is the next great step you have chosen for your life. In many
ways this next four years will complete “your coming of age” journey. Ideally, you
will find a goal around which to define life’s meaning during these next years. In
what ways does your summer reading give your time in college direction? Raise
new questions? Or re-define your perspectives?

The author chose to address significant issues of the twenty-first century. Our
world today is one of global interchange and global reach, from the internet to
global warming to new ailments and new fears. How do your readings reflect
these issues?

More than anything else, human beings are looking for their purpose and their
place in the world throughout their lives. For many this includes love, a vocation,
and a reason for being. Ultimately, that role may be a bit different than
anticipated. What is your vocation or purpose? How does college fit into those
plans? What is your dream?
Please submit your work electronically by Tuesday, September
