Course Overview: Introduction
Students are introduced into the practice of translation in order to give them an overall view of what
translators do and how translation is studied. The course introduces the social and transactional skills
which a professional translator uses. It also focuses on training students to translate various passages
that vary in content, length, language, genre, and so on. Students are taught how to use the dictionary
