Faculty discussed the fact that some students do not initiate contact and may need a nudge (i.e., e-mail invitation to all advisees) to enhance their connection with their advisor. Faculty discussed the importance of addressing the role of advisor at orientation, since at the graduate level this may be different than what students experienced during their undergraduate education. The plan for was made for annual surveys in the spring to provide ongoing feedback. 9) Discussed the results of various other surveys: a. Assessments for interns and site supervisors – some concern that the assessment tools don’t address the needs of school counselors as well.
