Annotated Bibliography The Annotated Bibliography is comprised of three parts for each source. Each source receives its own page. Consult your research paper assignment for the number of entries required for your annotated bibliography. Remember that the annotated bibliography contains references that you might or might not use in your final essay, but that your Works Cited page contains ONLY those sources cited in your essay. Follow the format below. Use MLA heading on the first page only. Give the full bibliographic information in MLA format. This is what will appear in the Works Cited page if you decide to include this reference in your essay. Copy and paste the citation into the Works Cited page, and then correctly order the sources. Note the “hanging indent” format. Write a paragraph of at least 150 words that summarizes the contents and main ideas of the source. Write a paragraph evaluating the source and indicating how it might be used in your essay. Use this as a repository for quotations, paraphrases and page references. If you think you might not use this source, state why. Is the author too biased, or does the source repeat other references you have found, or is the information too broad or just inadequate for your project?
