EE440 DESIGN SET #7 - DUE THREE WEEKS
SPICE/MICROCAP REQUIRED FOR SOLID STATE DESIGNS
PROB 8
Given the characteristics of the 2N68 power transistor design a class B power amplifier with the following specifications:
1. Push-pull transformer configuration
2. 10 watts output into 4-8 ohms
3. Approximately 10 db of power gain
4. Transformer coupled at both the input and output - The input is to be 47 Kohm with a swing of + 2V
5. Specify and justify: a. Power supply b. Transformer ratios c. Resistances and loading circuits
PROB 9
Design a class B output transformerless push-pull single or double-ended power amplifier for the following specifications:
1. No transformers in drive or output - The input is the same as prob 8 spec #4.
2. 100 watts into 8 ohms
3. Frequency response: 20 - 20 KHz + 1 db
4. Show and calculate all circuit values and justify choices
5. Any FETS or BIPOLARS may be used
PROB 10
Design a class B push-pull power amplifier using the 6L6 characteristics shown. Try for specifications of PROB 9 except that the circuit is to be transformer coupled at the output.
The circuit may be transformer coupled at the input.
Do not be concerned about biasing. Only worry about the output circuit.
