Division Council Meeting Minutes December 6, 2011 Stephanie welcomed everyone. The meeting will be spent on Plan Builder. Stephanie provided copies of 2012-13 program plans to each department faculty. Faculty are to submit their department priority lists by December 15, 2011. Stephanie asked faculty if Plan Builder has worked for their area. Mike Stallings/Architecture said: -Plan Builder helped to get a part-time toolroom attendant for Architecture. He said it’s like a wish list if there are grants available Stephanie asked faculty members to enter funding needs and justification into plan builder. These entries contribute to the budget. said to put a budget on PB. Should there be funding from external sources she can use the information from PB for the departments to allocate these funds. Patricia Fairchild/ACRP -Do we assume equipment and supplies will be added to the new shop bldg? Major equipment will be covered. There was a problem with the car lift breaking and it will have to be replaced. These need to be in PB include estimated costs. As they are delivered/deployed they can be listed as accomplished in future plan updates. Jack Selph/CTEC -Any word on the access road to construction area? Stephanie asked Jack to send information about access road to her and copy to Daniel. Steve Cocca said construction is being impacted with what is happening with the stadium. Vic Cafarchia/ACR -Is he to put furniture for the offices on PB? Yes. Last year there was funding available for furniture and Cosmetology had put it in their PB. Cosmetology was able to get a desk for Phil Mariano. Welding got a big ticket item as well, Virtual Builder for $55,000. Eric Carlson is also getting high end equipment through CTEA. Stephanie suggested identifying requests as program improvements. Do we need to put what we need in PB to apply for CTEA? Yes. As an example, Steve Cocca had been putting in for computers in Electronics for 5 years. It kept rolling over until the request was approved. Electronics just received got their computers. Jack Selph/CTEC What is happening with the transformers in construction? The transformer installation did not resolve power needs. A panel hasn’t been put in for construction and they still cannot use some of their equipment. The power is there, but now they have no access to it. Where do we go from here? Stephanie asked that he document the needs and send it to her and Dan. She will need his documentation for: 1) Access road to construction and 2) Electrical panel/sub panels and outlets for construction. 1 Division Council Meeting Minutes December 6, 2011 Software – Unit Plan Mike Stallings, Doug Glenn, and Renee Newell, are getting software upgrades. If needed, Dan will be available to help each department with their program plans. Should software be put in for all departments or by individual departments? Dan suggested that software should be entered by each department because: 1) expenses will be clearly allocated to each responsible department and program; 2) Reports are available to gather and sum all technology requests from each department. Steve Cocca asked if he should put in request for John Wagstaff to have ITS install software. Stephanie said they are giving John Wagstaff everything possible. Dan said money is tight, but put in your program plans. Program Plans and priority lists are due by faculty by December 15, 2011. Stephanie may add software technician to the unit plan. If any changes are made to the unit plan, please make sure to enter your name and date. Faculty are to review and update plans 3 times a year. Program plans and priority lists are due by December 15. Stephanie will review and submit unit plan by January 2012. Daniel will generate a report and email it to each full-time faculty. Meeting ended 2:00 pm. 2
