Recognizing, 2008 change to the structure of the Academic Integrity Hearing Panel to streamline
the process,
Acknowledging, this change resulted in fewer panel members and fewer opportunities for
students to respond to allegations of academic misconduct,
Concerned, students feel as if they do not get the appropriate opportunity to represent
themselves to the panel in front of their accuser,
Having considered, the opinions of the Academic Integrity Hearing Panel Chair, Dr. Khamis,
the Faculty President at the time the new policy was approved, Dr. Sudkamp, and the Director of
Community Standards and Student Conduct, Dr. Dickstein,
The Wright State University Student Government,
1. Recommends The formation of an ad hoc committee of the Faculty Senate to include
representatives from the Faculty Senate, Student Government, and the Office of Community
Standards and Student Conduct to revisit the structure of the Academic Integrity Hearing Panel
so that it reflects its stated purpose, keeping all stakeholders in mind.
