Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Identify prisoner needs. Evidence requirements 1.1 Identify immediate and/or basic needs of prisoners. Range may include but is not limited to – immediate needs checklist, atrisk assessment, unit induction, workplace induction, health and safety induction, information requests; evidence of three is required. 1.2 Determine prisoner needs that fall outside of operating requirements. 1.3 Identify changes in situations which impact on the prisoner. 1.4 Assess prisoner needs and requests for relevance and make decisions based on the capacity to implement the requests. Outcome 2 Respond to prisoner needs. Range may include but is not limited to – information, access to services, follow-up, service providers, special needs; evidence of three is required. Evidence requirements 2.1 Communicate with prisoners clearly and concisely and check prisoner understanding. 2.2 Make referrals to services where appropriate. 2.3 Respond to needs of prisoners. 2.4 Implement follow-up action to required standard and within agreed timeframe. 2.5 Liaise with other parties to respond to prisoner needs.
