The brief will be limited to performance text production guidelines, venue, budget; but it should allow for creative input. 2 Respect for ownership of original ideas and cultural sensitivity underpin the learning and teaching in this unit standard. 3 Definitions Performance text refers to performance material which may include written, visual, oral, or combination(s). Theatre refers to performance space which may be within traditional theatre structures or alternative venue. Problems refer to creative challenges and limitations contained in brief. Agreed production idea is an agreement regarding ideas between at least the designer and tutor/director. 4 Legislation Legislation relevant to this unit standard includes but is not limited to the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, and its subsequent amendments. Evidence requirements 2.1 Development explains design brief for a stage production. 2.2 Costume design issues are identified for the specific circumstances. Range 2.3 A range of design ideas is created in developing the concept. Range 2.4 simple graphic form, mock up, brief notes, evaluation of alternatives. A range of costume design options is presented for development of design concept. Range 2.5 circumstances may include but are not limited to – text, occasion, venue, social, cultural. one presentation of - oral, written, visual. Agreed presentation ideas are developed and presented as a design concept.
