task and duties, and evaluate individuals and teams against

Elements and Performance Criteria
element 1
Allocate tasks and duties, and evaluate teams, individuals and self against allocated work.
performance criteria
1.1
Allocations optimise the use of resources and the existing skills of crew
members.
1.2
Team and individual responsibilities and limits of authority are clearly defined
and recorded where this is required by specific vessel operations.
Range:
specific vessel operations are defined by the operating procedures
and nature of operations of the vessel.
1.3
The tasks and duties allocated to individuals provide learning opportunities
consistent with the requirements detailed in individual training plans.
1.4
Information is provided in a manner, and at a level and pace appropriate to the
individuals concerned, and confirmation of clarification is obtained prior to
commencement of their allocated activities.
1.5
Where allocations prove to be untenable or unrealistic, adjustments to work
allocations minimise the impact on time and cost to operations.
1.6
Previous allocations are evaluated and used to improve current practice.

Provide feedback to teams and individuals on their performance.

2.1
Feedback is given in a level of detail, and in a manner, and at a level and pace
to suit the individual.
2.2
Feedback provides constructive suggestions and encouragement for improving
future performance against work and training duties.

and procedures could be improved.

Actions taken meet legal requirements and procedures are implemented in a
