Explanatory notes 1 The candidate is required to keep a logbook of problems they have solved indicating that they have supplied evidence for all range items specified in this unit standard. 2 All workplace practices must meet any applicable and recognised codes of practice, and documented workplace health, safety, and environmental procedures for personal, product, workplace health, safety, and environmental matters; and the obligations required under current law including the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, Resource Management Act 1991, Privacy Act 1993, and their subsequent amendments. 3 Workplace practices refer to the documented procedures for the machine and/or workplace. 4 Problem solving, for the purpose of this unit standard, is an approach which may include but is not limited to – problem identification, problem analysis, idea and solution generation, selection and planning of a possible solution, development and testing of that solution, evaluation of the solution, implementation of the solution. Evidence requirements 1.1 Ink problems encountered when undertaking pad printing production are solved in accordance with a problem solving approach and workplace practices. Range 1.2 Plate problems encountered when undertaking pad printing production are solved in accordance with a problem solving approach and workplace practices. Range 1.3 evidence of solving at least four pad problems. Machinery problems encountered when undertaking pad printing production are solved in accordance with a problem solving approach and workplace practices. Range 1.5 evidence of solving at least four plate problems. Pad problems encountered when undertaking pad printing operations are solved in accordance with a problem solving approach and workplace practices. Range 1.4 evidence of solving at least four ink problems. evidence of solving at least four machinery problems. Problems arising within the workplace are solved in accordance with workplace practices. Range evidence of solving at least four problems from areas which may include but are not limited to – workflow, legislative requirements, systems, workplace procedures, records.
