Elements and performance criteria
Element 1
Identify situations where baggage damage may occur.
Performance criteria
1.1
Situations where baggage may be damaged are identified in accordance with
enterprise procedures.
Range
may include but is not limited to – pre-existing damage, damage
by automated sorting system, damage during manual sorting,
damage during loading, damage during flight, damage on
unloading.
Element 2
Identify company liability and costs associated with damaged baggage.
Performance criteria
2.1
Legal liability and costs to company are identified in accordance with enterprise
procedures.
Range
may include but is not limited to – limited release waivers,
international liability limits, costs of damaged baggage claims.
Element 3
Describe the process for identifying and reporting damaged baggage.
Performance criteria
3.1
Process for identifying and reporting damaged baggage is described in
accordance with enterprise procedures.
Please note
Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.

Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
