Range wild, novel, free. 1.2 Endophytes are described in terms of their longevity on the plant, and subsequent effect on stock. 1.3 Endophytes are described in terms of the effect of storage. 1.4 Endophytes are described in terms of the pasture and seed requirements, and the reasons why farmers use it. Element 2 Demonstrate knowledge of the factors affecting seed choice, and on-farm operations required to ensure optimum seed quality from pick up at the seed merchant store, through the cropping process, to the resulting delivery of seed to an outlet for processing. Range small seed, vegetable or ryegrass. Performance criteria 2.1 Factors affecting the choice of seed for producing optimum quality of seed are described for a specified situation. Range 2.2 species selection, endophyte status, cultivar, isolation requirements, classification status. On-farm operations required for producing optimum quality of seed are described for a specified situation, and in accordance with end use. Range weed control, pest control, storage, classification, isolation requirements; documentation – seed tracking, seed traceability; end use, one of – crop, malt, retail, export. Please note Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
