script; make advanced preparations; make a video; assess the
video; and assess the experience of making a video.

safety prerequisites
Open, but it is recommended that this unit standard be
attempted after credit has been gained for all other unit
standards in the compulsory core of the National Certificate in
Film and Television [Ref: 0472], or demonstrate equivalent
knowledge and skills.

Version 4 of this unit standard was issued in June 1998. The entry information was
amended to clarify the recommendation.

Version 3 of this unit standard was issued in May 1998. The entry information was
changed to make reference to the new National Certificate in Film and Television,
which has replaced the National Certificate in Film and Television (Foundation Skills)
[Ref: 0295].

In preparing a script, people may present their own, or adapt an existing, storyline.

The video should be live action and at least three minutes in duration.

The maker should write, produce, and direct the video with other roles filled by other
personnel.

Equipment and personnel are confirmed before shooting commences.
3.2
Scenes are shot in a manner which employs a variety of camera and
composition techniques.
3.3
Responsibility is taken and decisions made in terms of situations arising during
shooting.
3.4
Team work is encouraged in terms of a co-operative working relationship during
shooting.
3.5
Operations are completed without damage to equipment and injury to
personnel.
3.6
Operations are completed in terms of accepted work-site practices.
