People credited with this unit standard are able to: clean hide processing machinery, equipment, and facilities; demonstrate team-work; and comply with company and statutory hygiene and safety requirements. Operator – the candidate being assessed against this unit standard. This unit standard is expiring Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Clean hide processing machinery, equipment, and facilities. Evidence requirements 1.1 Daily and periodic cleaning programmes are completed in accordance with organisational requirements. 1.2 Effluent disposal from cleaning operations meets organisational requirements. 1.3 Work surfaces, floors, machinery, and equipment are cleaned in accordance with organisational requirements. 1.4 All remaining traces of contamination are removed from equipment and machinery with detergents, cleaning chemicals, and scrubbing brushes in accordance with organisational requirements. Primary Industry Training Organisation SSB Code 101558 New Zealand Qualifications Authority 2016 NZQA Expiring unit standard 8020 version 10 Page 2 of 4 1.5 Moisture sensitive equipment is cleaned and protected in accordance with organisational and manufacturer’s requirements. 1.6 Objects likely to obstruct drains are picked up and disposed of in accordance with organisational requirements. 1.7 The hygiene standards of cleaned areas meet organisational requirements. 1.8 The cleaning process is systematic and avoids recontamination of cleaned areas. 1.9 All cleaning equipment and supplies are returned to their correct locations in accordance with organisational requirements. 1.10 Machinery, water, lights, and power are turned off in accordance with organisational requirements. Outcome 2 Demonstrate team-work. Evidence requirements 2.1 The quality and completeness of tasks meet the operational requirements of downstream co-workers. 2.2 Communication and feedback are provided to and requested from co-workers to maintain and improve task and product quality. 2.3 Co-workers are not endangered through the operator's methods and equipment. 2.4 Co-worker assistance is provided to achieve equitable distribution of work and task completion. 2.5 This unit standard is expiring Machinery, equipment, and facility malfunctions are identified and reported in accordance with organisational requirements. 2.6 Conflict resolution techniques are applied to minimise interpersonal differences with co-workers that may adversely affect team performance. Outcome 3 Comply with organisational and statutory hygiene and safety requirements. Evidence requirements 3.1 Company supplied clothing, and hygiene and safety equipment are worn and used in accordance with organisational and statutory requirements.
