Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate
knowledge of the winding machine; prepare and operate a
winding machine; identify and fix operational and product faults;
and clean winding machine and work area.

Definition
Workplace procedures – procedures used by the organisation carrying out the work
and applicable to the tasks being carried out. Examples are – standard operating
procedures, site safety procedures, equipment operating procedures, codes of
practice, quality management practices and standards, and procedures to comply
with legislative and local body requirements.

Range
Winding equipment may include – hank to package or package to package winding
with manual or automatic doffing.

Assessment guidance
Competence is intended to be demonstrated on the type of winding equipment
installed in the candidates’ workplace.

All evidence must be in accordance with workplace procedures.

Machine is operated.
