People credited with this unit standard are able to: interpret company processing requirements; sort wet woolskins; describe the effects of incorrect wet woolskin sorting; describe processing stages preceding and following wet woolskin sorting; demonstrate team-work; and comply with organisational and statutory hygiene and safety requirements. Outcome 2 Sort wet woolskins. Evidence requirements 2.1 Wet woolskins are inspected and assessed in accordance with company specifications. 2.2 Wet woolskins are sorted into categories in accordance with company specifications for skin types, pelt and wool quality, re-work requirements and stages of processing. 2.3 Consistency of sorting between skins and batches meets company specifications. 2.4 Sorted skins are counted, identified, and recorded to company requirements. 2.5 Any problems affecting the supply of a constant high light environment during sorting operations are reported in accordance with company requirements. 2.6 Sorted skins are presented, stacked, and transferred to the next stage of processing in accordance with company requirements. 2.7 Process control checks and documentation are completed in accordance with company requirements. Outcome 3 This unit standard is expiring Describe the effects of incorrect wet woolskin sorting. Evidence requirements 3.1 The effects of incorrect wet woolskin sorting are described in terms of the cost to the tannery. Range effects include but are not limited to – damage, requirements for rework, customer dissatisfaction, financial loss. Outcome 4 Describe processing stages preceding and following wet woolskin sorting. Evidence requirements 4.1 Production requirements of the preceding processing stages are described in accordance with company specifications. 4.2 Production requirements of the following processing stages are described in accordance with company specifications. Outcome 5 Demonstrate team-work. Evidence requirements 5.1 Tasks are completed within the time and space allocation determined by product flow and organisational requirements. 5.2 The quality and completeness of tasks meet the operational requirements of following co-workers. 5.3 Communication and feedback are provided to and requested from co-workers to maintain and improve task and product quality. 5.4 Co-workers are not endangered through the operator's methods and equipment. 5.5 Co-worker assistance is provided within the confines of product flow and operator space. 5.6 Any machinery, equipment, and facility malfunctions are identified and reported to supervisory staff in accordance with organisational requirements. 5.7 This unit standard is Conflict resolution techniques are applied to minimise interpersonal differences expiring with co-workers which may adversely affect team performance in accordance with organisational requirements. Outcome 6 Comply with organisational and statutory hygiene and safety requirements. Evidence requirements 6.1 Company supplied clothing, and hygiene and safety equipment are worn and used in accordance with organisational and statutory requirements. 6.2 Work methods comply with specified organisational and statutory requirements to minimise the risk injuries to the operator and others.
