Company procedures means the documented methods for performing work activities and include health and safety, environmental, and quality management requirements. They may refer to manuals, codes of practice, or policy statements. Elements and performance criteria Element 1 Locate and identify advanced gas pressure reducing and metering station equipment, documentation, and procedures for equipment assembly and station installations. Performance criteria 1.1 Company procedures and documentation for the assembly and installation of advanced pressure reducing stations, regulators, meters, and ancillary equipment are located and interpreted in relation to specified job requirements. Range 1.2 installation site specific, authorisation, manufacturer’s information, test certificates, equipment operating manuals, safety procedures, operating procedures. Job instructions are confirmed in accordance with company procedures. Range location, condition, size, position, pressure settings. 1.3 Potential environmental and safety hazards are identified in accordance with company procedures. 1.4 Equipment, components, and materials for installing and commissioning advanced gas pressure reducing and metering stations are identified and described in terms of type and function. Range 1.5 may include but is not limited to – valves, pipe, filter, pipe supports, regulator, meter, gaskets, bolts, gauges, test points, paint, test equipment, tools, fittings. Equipment is described in terms of potential hazards of incorrect application and operation, and the steps to avoid them are described in accordance with company procedures. Performance criteria 2.1 Safety hazards are identified, and isolated, removed, or minimised in accordance with company procedures. Range 2.2 may include – signage, barriers, personal protective equipment, safe access and egress, gas escape, fire, explosion, asphyxiation, other utilities, temporary traffic control, environmental protection, excavations. Installation equipment and materials are prepared, handled, and positioned in accordance with company procedures and manufacturer’s instructions. Element 3 Assemble and install an advanced gas pressure reducing and metering station. Performance criteria 3.1 Assembly and installation of advanced pressure reducing station, regulators, meters, and ancillary equipment comply with manufacturer's requirements and company procedures. Range may include but is not limited to – site specific, lubrication, calibration, structure, corrosion, relief valve setting, filters, pressure differential, slam shut. 3.2 Installation equipment is used in accordance with company procedures and manufacturer's instructions. 3.3 Components and component parts are fitted and adjusted in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. 3.4 Assembly and installation comply with company safety procedures. Performance criteria 4.1 Advanced gas pressure reducing and metering station is purged and commissioned in accordance with company procedures, manufacturer’s instructions and site requirements. Range 4.2 includes but is not limited to – additional stream(s), relief valves, regulators, pilot-operated regulators, meters, liaison, location, pressure settings, functional tests, diagnosis. Advanced gas pressure reducing and metering station is tested for soundness and integrity in accordance with company procedures and manufacturer's instructions. Range may include but is not limited to – pressure settings, soap test, gauges, filters, reliefs, flow, temperature. Element 5 Reinstate site. Performance criteria 5.1 Equipment and materials left temporarily on site are stored safely and securely, or arrangements are made for their collection in accordance with company procedures. 5.2 Tools, equipment, and materials are removed from site in accordance with job requirements and company procedures. 5.3 Worksite is reinstated and made safe in accordance with company procedures. Element 6 Complete reporting and documentation. Performance criteria 6.1 Information is communicated to other parties, both internal and external, in accordance with company procedures. Range 6.2 may include but is not limited to – special conditions, completion notice, additional work. Records and documents are completed and processed in accordance with company procedures. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
