NZQA Expiring unit standard 2511 version 9 Page 1 of 3 Title Demonstrate knowledge of ovine grading classifications Level 2 Credits Purpose 3 This entry level unit standard is for people whose job requires them to understand Beef and Lamb New Zealand grading classifications for ovine carcasses and the standard carcass trim required by their company. People credited with this unit standard are able to describe: ovine fat classifications; ovine weight classifications; and the standard carcass trim for ovine carcasses. Outcome 2 Describe ovine weight classifications. Evidence requirements 2.1 Weight classifications are described in accordance with statutory and organisational requirements. 2.2 Hot weight measurements are described for each fat and weight class in accordance with statutory and organisational requirements.
