Purpose
This unit standard is for people working in a postharvest operation who are
required to have a basic knowledge of workflow management.
People credited with this unit standard are able to: manage workflow systems
to meet the requirements of a postharvest operation, manage problems that
occur within a workflow system in a postharvest operation, and manage
workflow system’s documentation and/or software as used in a postharvest
operation.

Element 1
Manage workflow systems to meet the requirements of a postharvest operation.
Performance criteria

Workflow systems are managed in accordance with workplace procedures.
Range
may include but is not limited to – just in time orders, packed
inventory, inwards goods management, capacity planning,
dispatch management, labour.
Element 2
Manage problems that occur within a workflow system in a postharvest operation.
Performance criteria
2.1
Problems that occur within the workflow system are managed in accordance
with workplace procedures.
Range
2.2
may include but not limited to – internal audit, audit reports,
process reports, quality control records, supervisor monitoring,
general observation, computer reports, discussion with personnel.
Corrective action is taken where a problem is identified.
Range
may include but is not limited to – data collection, review, action
plan, measured outcome, changes to procedures to prevent
recurrence, ongoing monitoring.

Manage workflow system’s documentation and/or software as used in a postharvest

Performance criteria

Documentation and/or software use is managed in accordance with workplace
procedures.

with workplace procedures.
Range
may include but is not limited to – audit procedures, quality
assurance requirements, product tracking, stocktake.
Please note
Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations
wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for
