This unit standard is for people working in a postharvest operation.
People credited with this unit standard are able to: implement technical

Implement the technical requirements and workplace procedures for a non-conforming
product in a postharvest operation.
Performance criteria
2.1
The technical requirements for one product are implemented.
Range

may include but is not limited to – tolerance levels, market access
restrictions, workplace procedures to be followed, relevant
legislation.
Documentation for the technical requirements for one product is completed in
accordance with workplace procedures.

Element 3
Identify potential sources and outcomes of non-conformance in a postharvest operation.
Performance criteria
3.1
Sources of non-conformance are identified for one product in terms of the risk
that they may present.
Range
3.2
may include but not limited to – phytosanitary, actionable, nonactionable, grade standards, packaging, trading standards, market
access restrictions.
The potential outcomes of non-conformance are described in terms of the
consequences for the operation.
Range
may include but is not limited to – threat to market access, loss of
production, loss of sales, fumigation.
Please note
Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations
wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for
