This unit standard is for people in meat processing companies who work on the production line and who are required to achieve assigned tasks in a team environment. Evidence requirements 1.1 Meat processing production line team tasks and responsibilities are identified in accordance with organisational requirements. Range team tasks may include but are not limited to – preparation of livestock, slaughter and dressing, further processing, dispatching, refrigeration, hygiene and sanitation, packaging. 1.2 The allocation of production line tasks and responsibilities is identified and described in accordance with organisational requirements. 1.3 The importance of implementing a team approach on a meat processing production line is explained in terms of meeting company and customer specifications and organisational requirements. 1.4 Relevant legislative requirements for allocated tasks are identified in terms of applying them to the team environment. Range 1.5 may include but is not limited to – health and safety, hygiene and sanitation, animal welfare. The location of team task instructions is identified and described in accordance with organisational requirements. This unit standard is Evidence requirements expiring Outcome 2 Complete personal work tasks within a production line team environment. 2.1 Personal work tasks on the production line are completed within acceptable time frames in accordance with organisational requirements. 2.2 Personal workload is scheduled to meet the processing requirements set for the team in accordance with organisational requirements. 2.3 Assistance is requested from other team members as required to meet work task requirements. 2.4 The quality and completeness of team tasks are in accordance with organisational requirements. 2.5 Interactive communication skills are used to participate in team processes during production line tasks. Evidence requirements 3.1 Company supplied clothing, and hygiene and safety equipment are worn and used in accordance with organisational and statutory requirements. 3.2 Work methods comply with specified organisational and statutory requirements to minimise the risk of product contamination and injuries to the operator and others. 3.3 Contaminated meat products, surfaces, machinery and equipment are handled in accordance with organisational and statutory requirements. 3.4 Unsafe and unhygienic conditions are identified and reported to supervisory staff in accordance with organisational requirements. 3.5 Equipment, operator and work area cleanliness complies with organisational and statutory requirements.
