Explanatory notes Definitions Enterprise means an organisation where training and/or assessment is taking place, and/or where the trainee is employed. Enterprise procedures refer to the documented procedures used by the organisation carrying out the work and applicable to the tasks being carried out. They may include but are not limited to – standard operating procedures, site safety procedures, equipment operating procedures, codes of practice, quality assurance procedures, housekeeping standards, charging of time and materials, management of drawings and documentation, procedures to comply with legislative and local body requirements. Job change is the changing of mould gear and ancillary equipment. Mould gear is components of the blank side and mould side. Blank side components are press and blow plunger, thimble, neck ring, blank mould, funnel, baffle. Mould side components are blow mould, mould bottom plate, distributor (vertiflow) plate, blow head, take out grips. Ancillary equipment is baffle arms, funnel arms, neck ring arms, blow head arms, take out arms, hinges, delivery gear, cooling stack nozzles, plunger spacers, loading screws. Range evidence is required for two job changes on at least two of the following processes – blow and blow, press and blow, narrow neck press and blow. Evidence requirements 1.1 The information required to prepare for, and carry out a job change is collated and analysed in accordance with enterprise procedures. Range job sheet generation, special notes, job numbers, finish 1.2 The full set of mould gear and the ancillary equipment for the job change are checked for availability and that they are in working condition in accordance with enterprise procedure. 1.3 Mould gear and ancillary equipment are changed and set in accordance with enterprise procedures. Range evidence is required for changing blank side and mould side equipment. 1.4 The IS machine is dry cycled and adjusted in accordance with enterprise procedures. 1.5 The IS machine is monitored to maintain efficiency rates post job-change until handover requirements are met.
