1
Definition
Worksite requirements – refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures which
are documented in memo or manual format and are available in the workplace.
These requirements include but are not limited to – company specifications and
procedures, work instructions, manufacturer’s specifications, product quality
specifications, legislative requirements.

All work to be done in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety in
Employment Act 1992, Building Act 2004, New Zealand Standard (NZS) 4223.3:1999
Code of practice for glazing in buildings – Human impact safety requirements, NZS
4223.4:2008 Code of practice for glazing in buildings – Wind, dead, snow, and live
actions, AS/NZS 1576.1:1995 Scaffolding – General Requirements, available at

Outcomes and evidence requirements
Outcome 1
Prepare to install structural glass assemblies.
Evidence requirements
1.1
Customer’s requirements are confirmed before work begins in accordance with
worksite requirements.
Range
may include but is not limited to – design details, drawings and
specifications, product information, applicable codes and
regulations, site operational procedures.

1.2
All necessary equipment, tools and installation materials are checked and
assembled prior to commencement of work in accordance with worksite
requirements.
1.3
Installation site check is completed in accordance with worksite requirements.
Range
site check may include but is not limited to – measurements, fixing
provisions, if surrounds and supports are plumb and/or level, any
potential installation hazards or problems.
1.4
Scaffolding provided by others and/or non-notifiable scaffolding erected by the
installer is checked for compliance with health and safety legislation
requirements before it is used.
1.5
Hoisting equipment provided by others and/or by the installer is checked for
compliance with health and safety legislation requirements before it is used.
Outcome 2
Install structural glass assemblies.
Evidence requirements
2.1
Joints are sealed in accordance with worksite requirements.
2.2
Installation of structural glass assemblies meets job specifications and worksite
requirements.
2.3
Installation of hardware and accessories meets job specifications and worksite
requirements.
Range
fittings may include but are not limited to – channels, patch or
spider fittings, fin brackets or shoes, trusses, door floor pivots or
springs.
2.4
Operations are completed without injury to personnel or damage to product and
equipment in accordance with job specifications and worksite requirements.
2.5
Installation is cleaned and work area is left clear and clean in accordance with
worksite requirements.
2.6
Customer is advised of any relevant maintenance requirements in accordance
with worksite requirements.
This unit standard is expiring. Assessment against the standard must take place by
the last date for assessment set out below.
