The qualification recognises the skills and knowledge required to develop: production management action plans and analyse results; identify and analyse high performance in agribusiness productivity; manage a feed budget to meet agribusiness production targets; manage risk; describe land ownership, tenure, succession planning, and forms of agribusiness ownership; describe the effects of market forces on an agri-industry; describe physical resources; manage human resources; develop and monitor business and financial plans, manage capital, implement taxation requirements, obtain finance to establish, extend, or diversify an agricultural business; and analyse performance and investment opportunities. Diploma holders will be able to draw all these skills and knowledge together to produce a final report on the performance and opportunities for an agribusiness. All standards in the qualification are compulsory because agribusiness management contains a set of well-defined skills and knowledge that apply across all types of agribusinesses. This qualification builds on the knowledge and skills recognised by the National Certificate in Agriculture (Level 4) with strands in Arable Farming, Cattle Farming, Dairy Farming, Deer Farming, and Sheep Farming [Ref: 0986], National Certificate in Agribusiness Management (Agribusiness Resource Management) [Ref: 1187], National Certificate in Agribusiness Management (Business Planning and Financial Management) [Ref: 1186], and the National Certificate in Agriculture (Production Management) with strands in Arable Farming, Cattle Farming, Dairy Farming, Deer Farming, and Sheep Farming [Ref: 1188].
