NZQA registered unit standard 2547 version 8 Page 1 of 3 Title Demonstrate knowledge of contract provisions for joinery Level 5 Purpose Credits 5 This theory-based unit standard is for experienced people who work in a joinery workshop in a supervisory position. People credited with this unit standard are able to draft and present a contract for joinery, and outline the implementation of the signed contract. Classification Joinery > Joinery Core Skills Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 All workplace practices must comply with current legislation, codes of practice, and documented site safety procedures for personal, product, and worksite safety. 2 Legislation and regulations relevant to this unit standard include but are not limited to – Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, Health and Safety in Employment Regulations 1995. 3 Competence in this unit standard requires knowledge of NZS 3910:2013 Conditions of Contract for Building and Civil Engineering Construction. This is available at http://www.standards.co.nz. 4 Definition Contract refers to either a contract or a sub-contract. 5 Assessment against this unit standard may occur within a simulated situation. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Draft and present a contract for joinery. Evidence requirements 1.1 The contract document is drafted in accordance with NZS 3910:2013 specifications. 1.2 The draft document is presented for signature in accordance with NZS 3910:2013 specifications and workplace practice. Evidence requirements 2.1 The process for completing the work is outlined in terms of the provisions of the signed contract. 2.2 The process for completing the work meets the requirements of a final completion certificate issued by the client or head contractor.
